When to use it
Send a proposal after a discovery call, when the client has described the problem and asked what you would do and what it would cost. The decision maker reads it, and often forwards it to someone in finance or procurement who was never on the call. It has to make sense on its own, without you there to explain it.
What is inside
- A header with fill-in fields for the project, the client, your name, your company and the date.
- A deliverables table with acceptance criteria and a target week for each item.
- Sections for investment, assumptions and exclusions, and a next step that asks for a kickoff meeting.
Tips for a better document
- Write the opportunity section in the client’s own words from your call. People trust a proposal that shows you listened.
- Add a cover page for a more formal document, and use the signature tool to sign the PDF before you send it for approval.
